The author was inspired by the dusty parts of trees. She was inspired by their beautiful red-brown colouring, and also by the consistency of the material. It is a very fragile texture, crumbling in the hands, reminiscent of flour. The artist worked with the idea of using this material to make bread, thus creating a new life form, a new body. The bread was then returned to the place where the material was found, it remains outside, it has become part of nature, later it may disappear, or nature may transform it in some way. It also expresses impermanence: the fact that everything goes on evolving even though the author is no longer present… Nature does its work.
