„I was interested in the symbolism and various semantic contents related to the boat and I have found out, it is often related to womanhood and particularly Freud uses it as a symbol of female genitalia. As a mother of a toddler and with another child on the way I decided to work with this topic. A boat in the nature, where nature is supposed to represent the constantly renewing and fertile element and I wanted to connect these two elements somehow.
We have the pleasure of living in a magnificent natural environment, we constantly realise its renewal and vitality. On the other hand, from the information reaching us we are also aware of the global environmental catastrophe that we are facing. I am asking myself, what the future holds for my two-year-old and my unborn child? Therefore, I wanted to express the contrast between the perfect natural environment which was in fact the reason we decided to settle in Vojka, and the uncertainty of preserving its recent state for the generations to come, if all predictions come true.”
